As reinforced in previous dream interpretation tutorials, dreams can be used to predict certain future events that may be experienced by us. From my experience, the dream scenes can usually forecast events within a two-week time frame. In fact, many a times, a dream will symbolize our mental and emotional experience just one day after its occurrence.
The following example is a real dream experience. Let's call the dreamer Benny. For privacy purposes, Benny is not the actual name of the subject.
The Dream scene
Benny was on one side of a cliff. There was a long wooden bridge that connected this cliff to another one. Benny was attempting to walk on this bridge to get to the other end. The bridge appeared to be flimsy. As Benny was walking on it, it shook and swayed badly.
Halfway along the wooden bridge, Benny was gripped by the fear of falling off the bridge. It was here that he froze and dare not move on anymore.
Disturbed by the fear, he woke up.
Looking at the dream scene, we can identify some dream symbols from it.
Below are some dream symbols that were found within the dream scene.
Dream symbol Cliff: This symbol is associated to the feeling of anxiety. It also denotes a sense of urgency to rescue oneself from a difficult situation.
Dream symbol Bridge. Bridge symbolizes a period of changes and transformations. The entire bridge itself denotes a transitional phase.
The following is a Dream Interpretation based on the analysis of the dream symbols as described above.
At that time, Benny was feeling much anxiety during his waking hours.
Benny was undergoing a transitional period of change in his life. At the point that the dream occurred, he was about halfway into this particular phase in his life. The changes were frightening to him. In the immediate or near future (from the date of occurrence of the dream) he will become hesitant about moving forward with these changes in his life.
